WPS Principals Message
Kia ora parents / whanau
Whilst this has been mentioned in previous newsletters, I need to bring it to your attention that there has been a growing number of children being dropped very early at school and then not being picked up until very late at the end of the day. These times are unsupervised, and on Friday there were around 40 children playing on the junior playground after 3.20 p.m. At times, there are still some children left at school at 4.00 p.m.
Our school brochure states:
"School finishes at 3.00 pm Please ensure that your child is collected from school at 3.00 p.m. Please note that the school does not provide supervision or take responsibility for your child after 3.00 p.m. Please see information re After School Care if needed. If your child is not collected they will be sent to the office and you will be phoned."
This is potentially a Health and Safety issue - if something serious happened during this time, there is not a teacher officially on duty to deal with it. Please give this your immediate attention.
